Cross Country
After last week's race in DCU Mr. L entered us in another race this week Thurs. 27th in The Phoenix Park. It was a good day, but I really can't run fast.. Our team was the only team not to win any medals.. How embarrassing. Oh well it's taking part that counts haha! We got to go to Mc Donald's on the way home and I got a nice hot chocolate. The Leinsters are in a few weeks, our team won't be competing but the other teams have a really good chance of winning more medals! I'll still train for cross country because even if I'm not fast i still have fun doing it!
Return of Rugby..
Wednesday, 26th of Jan, I woke up to the thought of having to run a mile at 9.05. I was not happy but surprisingly I actually felt so much better after running it!
We were on our way to the changing room to what we thought was an ordinary PE when Ms. O'C told us to change quickly.. Confused, we just looked at her with a blank expression, she informed us that we had tag rugby. Yaaaaaaaay! We have another six weeks of training with the two coaches from the Leinster Development Team. It should be good!

Mullingar :D
On Monday, 24th of Jan, Ty's went to Mullingar for a drama competition. There were four plays, two from each class. I was Kamal in our version of the novel Noughts and Crosses. Blacks are superior to whites in the play and basically my character in the story was to be mad at my daughter for getting pregnant with a white's child.. After months of practicing we finally got to perform in stage and I, of course, messed up my lines... but I don't think anyone noticed. It was a good day overall and we showed off our beautiful voices on the bus to some old classics by the one and only Whitney Houston. Thanks to Mrs. B, Mrs. G and Ms. R for helping us along the way! The results of the competition are out next week and if we get through, rumour has it, the next round is in Cork.. Woo! :)

It's been a long time..
I know I haven't blogged in awhile.. I don't really have a good enough excuse to be honest, so I have decided that I'm going to be completely commited to blogging regularly from now on :)
Last week was easily the best week of the year so far (not 2011 you understand, the school year). On Tuesday, 18th January, Jess, Sarah, Niamh P and myself went to DCU to run in the cross country race. It was a 2km race and I finished it at least! Niamh was injured but she soldiered on and the senior team placed as a result! Fair play to her :D
Then on Thursday two teams of TY's went to St. Mark's in Tallaght to compete in a tag rugby blitz, it was the best day of TY, I would tell any third year to apply for TY just so they could play tag rugby!! It was so much fun even though I fell and highly embarrassed myself in the first match.. We had two teams; a red one and a blue one.. Go on the blues hahah! The red team were amazing, they won every match!! We all got a t-shirt and a bag too :)
Hopefully we can start a tag rugby team in school and continue showing our talents.. HAHAHAAH!
On the Friday, the 21st, TY's went to the Young Scientist. I personally love the YS, and look forward to going every year outside school.. Partially because of the free things, I'm not going to lie :P ... Aoife Steph and Kate were competing. I would tell you about their project but it's far too compicated for me to explain and if I try I will do it no justice.. They won a highly commended award which was well deserved and earned, they put so much work into it! It's safe to say that we all had a deadly day and all found some freebies floating 'round. I think i came home with two t-shirts, a highlighter and a good few pens :D :D Also, the bouncy ball is always a classic..
Overall it was an unreal week and may many more follow!
