Mini Company is Going Well (:

We had our second mini company workshop in Naas yesterday. Our product is a spatula type spoon to make it easier for you to get the remains out of jars without any hassle. It's called the "scoover". Myself and Kate had to stay for two hours after school on Tuesday with ou tech teacher Mr. W to get our prototype made out of foam finished for yesterday!! We got it finished though and it looks pretty cool :) Mr. W was so nice to stay with us and help us as much as he has so thanks a lot to him! The group are going to The Dublin Institute of Design tomorrow to get help with our prototype which we can bring to manufacturers so they can produce some and we can start selling our scoover. All is going well in our mini company so hopefullt it'll be this way until the Enterpis Boards' mini company competition!

Work to be Done!

Our Young Scientsist survey went quite well and we got a good few volunteers to experiment on. Hopefully we'll get our testing done this week and keep the project moving nicely along.
A project design lecturer gave a talk to us today on how to make our Mini Company ideas a product.. He helped our group out a lot and we'll ask our tech teacher to help us with a prototype today in double tech. We're going to Naas next week for our second Mini Company Workshop so hopefully our prototype will be completely finished and our market research will be done.
Loads of work needs to be done to our projects this week to make them impressive!!

Young Scientist Update number 1!

Today my group for Young Scientist have to make a survey and distribute it to students in our school. Myself and Eimear are also going to ask people at a race tomorrow to complete the survey too. Hopefully we can get it done and finished this weekend with some volunteers to do a sprint test to prove our theory.. I can't say what our theory is because people who volunteer could read this! And then our test will be a failure!..

Another good week :)

This week in our Pastoral Care class we learned how to do hand massages. I'll be honest, I laughed when our teacher said we were going to do it but it was actually really relaxing!  We used lemongrass and almond oil to massage our hands.. It smelled so good!!
Our mini company group finalised our idea and have to have a prototype made ASAP! Loads of work needs to be done in the next week or so to make our product a success in the competition.
The school's first camogie match was on during the week too. Our science class went out to the pitch to cheer our classmates on! I don't play camogie but I could tell that the Wolstan's team were winning by.. a lot. The end result was something like 6 goals and 6 points to 2 goals and a point!!
Overall, it was a deadly week yet again :)

Geography project :)

For geography this term, we are in groups of three and have to visit six countries between the three of us. Two of the countries have to be in the first world, two in the second world and two in the third world. I have chosen to visit China and stick to my routes by "holidaying" in Ireland!
I have always wanted to spend a few months travelling the coast of Ireland. Loads of people want to jet off to sunny places for a holiday but there's so much to do here, why would you bother going abroad?! There's a few really cool surf schools in Sligo that I'll visit on my holiday and my holiday will finish by hitting a sliotar over the crossbar in Croke Park!
I couldn't visit China without going to the Greast Wall.. I'm going to walk from the very start of the wall to the end. It will take a day or two but i will do it! Before I leave I'll learn some Martial Arts as it originated in
China.
I'm looking forward to my holidays and will report back when they're over!!
